Hi, I'm Carla!
I draw on decades of experience with analyzing movement. I was a professional dancer and a dance critic prior to practicing physical therapy. This experience has given me the skills to expand people’s understanding of movement and help them find different ways of experiencing muscle activation in their bodies.
I am passionate about pelvic health and orthopaedics. Pelvic health is for everybody, not just folks who have given birth. I began as a pelvic health physical therapist and love exploring the interrelationships of the body’s urinary, bowel, sexual, and cardiorespiratory systems. My orthopaedic residency expanded my approach to assessment and treatment of these complex interconnected systems throughout the body. This specialization and my trained eye for movement analysis allows me to spot dysfunctional movement patterns, hypothesize, analyze, and treat. I often find that someone’s pelvic pain is related to their hips, bowel habits, core muscle coordination, or some other seemingly unconnected source. Therefore, I treat your entire body, not just your area of dysfunction.
After dancing professionally, I have dedicated myself to climbing, running, learning how to surf, biking and strength training. I love to do all these activities in Maine and am eager to help you fulfill all the outdoor adventures you would like to experience with a healthy body.
